10 mpg!!!!
Maybe its that I haven't given the computer time to adjust or maybe its too new, but I'm averaging 10 MPG!!!! I'm going crazy!, I saw the thread on MPG and most people are getting around 17 18, im not slamming the accelerator every chance I get either. Truthfully it doesn't get above 3k Rev, and considering its a 9k revving engine that's good right? Am i doing something wrong? or do i just have to let time do its thing...

I highly doubt that this is a result of it being a green engine. I mean a new engine isn't going to avg 10mpg when the car should be getting at least 15. I mean we're talking a 10mpg shift after 1200 miles... I think I avg'd like 21 when i first got it. after about 3000 miles It was down to 17-18. I mean seriously unless your're shifting above 5k, you should be getting at least 14-15
I would check the normal things like engine temp/engine oil/tire pressure. I would imagine if the A/F was off the car CEL would be thrown.
if it doesn't improve you have grounds to go turbo =) I would say saving 5-800 bucks a year justifies it. =P

MPG on First Long Distance Trip
Better than expected. 2009 G37 with 8,000 miles.
Drove from Atlanta to Tampa over the weekend. I reset the computer before leaving and checked the mileage using miles/gallons at fill up in Tampa.
Atlanta to Tampa (AC off)
Avg Speed: 74mph
29.5mpg (manual calculation: 30.1)
Tampa to Atlanta (AC on)
Avg Speed: 76mph
28.7mpg
I've been averaging around 21mpg back and forth to work (17 miles of mixed driving).

I have 3500 miles on my g37 sedan and have averaged 20 mpg since day 1 in mixed driving. I drive 18 miles each way to work and always get 20 mpg give or take a couple of tenths. I have not taken any long trips so I don't have any highway mileage numbers. My driving has been mostly with AC off since it has been cold in Georgia since I bought my car in October.
I got 18-19 mpg so far. Currently on my second tank of gas and my G37 has 500 miles. lots of short distance driving--I drive 1.5 miles one way to a bus station at least three days a week. On weekends, many short distance trips too. since I'm still break in on my G37, I'm pretty mild on the gas pedal. haven't taken any long distance trip yet.
I think 18-19 mpg on break-in is good enough. I averaged 20-21 mpg on my old 98 I30 on short distance driving. I got 27-28 mpg on my old car on highway though. (FYI: this 2010 G37 is 400 lbs heavier than 98 I30)

(Sorry Greg, couldn't help myself, it's your car, drill and hammer as much as you want my friend!)
Mine was never that bad. I think my worst recorded MPG is my first tank, which was 17.8. I obviously didn't floor it since I wanted to break the engine in. Ever since then, my average is about 20-22mpg, although a good amount of that is highway. Highest I ever got was 26mpg, but that was almost all highway. Definitely something wrong with your car (or you) if you're getting 10mpg.
