BTW, I see the mention of Pennzoil Ultra at BITOG, but is the website waiting to debut it? Can U post a URL to some official products stats on it online?

Joe, here's a TDS link: http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...0911241744.pdf

I also posted a link to a VOA (virgin oil analysis) a guy had done
on it before he used it so everyone would have some idea of
of what it is....and isn't. Check back a few posts or look at the
"definitive oil thread", I posted it there too.

I took the plunge today as well. We'll see how it goes. Did it at WalMart.

It was $65.59 - a $55 synthetic oil change (no upcharge to go with Ultra), plus one more quart at $6.97 as the car takes 5.2 quarts.

Not bad, you get a vaccuum, tire pressure check, & battery check too!

Along with a stripped out oil plug, loose oil filter, and who knows what else. You're one brave dude! I don't even like parking my car at Walmart

I wouldn't buy dog food at WalMart, much less take my $40k vehicle there for service. Are you nuts?

I watched 'em like a hawk. Hey, I was in a hurry. I'm 50 years old and it was the first time EVER I paid for an oil change! I've done them myself on all my cars, all my life.

Taking the G on a road trip early tomorrow morning... headed to Hot Springs AR, from Dallas for a weekend getaway. Looking forward to those windy roads in the hills.

I used Motul 8100 XMax on my last synthetic change. Really interested in using Pennzoil Ultra on the next change. Can't wait to see a UOA on this stuff.

We bought that car new and I did oil changes every 5-8K miles using conventional oils. I am thinking that is too long an interval for regular oil, even though the factory recommends 7500. So this time I will stick with synthetics and probably still go with the 7500 mile recommendation, since I am pretty confident good synthetics last at least that long.
Good lord you did 8K OCI's on conventional oil? No wonder you blew a head gasket.

Car and Driver has an ad for the Ultra oil on page 17, April issue. They're getting it out there in front of us, that's for sure.

Just put some of this stuff in this afternoon. Startup and idle seem to be a little smoother and quiter. So far so good. Will be getting a UOA done to compare. Had one UOA from my last change with Mobil 1 and will be mailing in the second Mobil 1 tomorrow.

If the car takes 5.2 quarts, why does this Nissan oil change kit comes with only 5 quarts? Nissan Oil Change Kit

Maybe that explains why the stealership charged me for 6 bottles of ester instead of 5.

I bought 6 quarts for my change today. But after the 5qt jug it was reading just below full on the dip stick.

Yeah, I know. I had to initially buy 6 quarts; the hope is I can use the extra quart for a few future oil changes unless I need to add some extra in the meantime.

I'm guessing the dealership didn't give you the leftovers and wants to open 6 new bottles every time?

Nope, they kept the leftovers. That's why I will be doing my oil changes and everything else elsewhere, as much as possible.

Anyway, good to know that it takes a bit over 5 quarts.

I asked Wal-Mart for my partial PU quart bottle, they gave it to me. I would say they used about .2 quarts of it - it was barely used, and the oil is right at the full mark on the stick. Five quarts should do it fine. I'll do mine next time, as well.
