how come on all the pictures you see and even in the infiniti commercials they show the g sedan clock with a light blue background light but in my g37 the light is just plain white?

 

it's the digital camera.

recall white is actually a function of all colors. these digital camera sensors are just more sensitive to blue than everything else which is why most pictures come out "cooler" (color temp) than what your eyes see.

you can see for yourself with a digital camera. your WB camera presets can demonstrate.

the auto white balance is supposed to take care of this but at the end of the day color is more artistic than white is.

 

Yup, it is definitely the camera. However, you can probably take off the glass and put a blue led to make it blue. I am thinking about doing that.

 

I don't think the background is white - at least on my g37s convertible. My wife and I agree the color is "lavender" - the infiniti logo on the clock is white but the background is definitely a different color. My son says the clock background is gray. The low level led light that shines down on the console is also a lavender color - not a warm white but strong blue notes.
