Recommend you read at least some of the huge thread on the 7AT started by Imatase
The '10 only has 40 miles on it, its the same car I test drove and remember flooring it back then. However all the test driving was done by me so 95% of her mileage are mine which is ok. Just wanted to chime in on initial observations moving from an 08 G35X to a '10 G37xS, both with Nav.
I had always thought the move to the '10 was all about the interior. However subtle the exterior changes may be they make quite a difference. I chose the S cos I thought it looks much better. The front grille is done much nicer and there is a seam extending from the sides of the headlights all the way down to the lip, makes the car look aggressive. The 18" wheels most certainly look better.
What I was not expecting was what a HUGE difference the 7 AT makes over the 5 AT. The car is more mature now, there seems to have been liberal use of padding to prevent engine noise. The RPMs are almost always below 2k (I have not been on the highway yet). This was my 1st experience with the VVEL and 7 AT and have to admit, these mechanical changes made the car have the right balance of sport and luxury. The 5 AT was more on the sporty side.
The interior is now better, I have black on black. The NAV screen beats anything I have seen before, and I have been in the '10 S4. It now comes with 3D images, the window sticker on the 08 had "Nav with building footprints" the '10 has "Nav with 3D Images", I am yet to go into the city to test the difference. The leather certainly feels more refined, reminds me of the IS250 its closer to that than the '08. I am not sure but the seat heaters seems to work by blowing air through the perforations, I dont think this is how the '08 worked, I could be wrong. The mats feel like there are made of better materials from the '08. Generally speaking, the interior feels more luxurious now and is at par with the best.
Still to break her in, cant wait. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about the move from 5AT to 7AT
Pics: There is a bit of retardness on my end as I am still figuring out how to go about posting good quality pics. 31 Years old and still struggling with this, very sad indeed

E90 335 was OK, F30 335 not so much. Funny how BMW and Lexus are going opposite direction from what they were used to be.

Yes I saw that. Things are relative, I have a G37 and honestly there is nothing in the ATS or the C350 that I think I am missing in my G37. I would rather wait for the next G37 before I even considered the ATS.

Totally agree about the ATS/C350. If I had a G37 I wouldn't see much reason to change.
Did you at all consider waiting for the new G? I think Infiniti is going to hit a home run on the new one. Can't wait for the Detrot Auto Show.

I did the right thing and bought my G35x and sold the IS250 after under 2 years. I have no desire to go back to that brand.

Prior to my 06 G35 I had a ES300 5 speed manual. I have no desire to return to that brand either

Congrats on the new car! Ever since I saw Estoril Blue on the E36 M3 it's been my favorite BMW color. Looking forward to the pics.

I have been documenting my wait on the bimmer forum above. I posted the pics there. I have only owned the car for 25 miles so far so not much to say at this stage

Good post.
On a side point - use the English language correctly. "cos" makes you seems uneducated. Because isn't that difficult to write, and consistent use of proper grammar makes one appear much more credible, even on a forum.

Furthermore, if you are going to pick apart someone's grammar you might want to "use the English language correctly" yourself with regard to the use of the word "seems" vs seem.
BTW Welcome
