Tip Tronic?

Hi Guys,

I'm new here, and yes I realised I had a brain fart and spelled site (sight) wrong in my username, but dont know how to delete this account and make a new one, help with that would be good too.

Anyways Im looking at upgrading from a 2000 maxima gle, which I absolutely love. I want the g37X premium/nav. Im located in Canada, so definitely need/want AWD. Anyways I understand the sport package on AWD gives paddle shifters, but I am wondering with the non-S package is there tip tronic on shifter down low? I really want this feature, but it won't alter my decision, just would be a nice bonus. Also what is the main difference between the sport package and non sport package in terms of seats? I want really good side bolstering, my gle is ok, but awesome seats are a must in any car I own in the future. Any input is appreciated, Im sure I will have more questions. I don't plan on buying until June or so, just doing my homework.

sports pack gives paddle shifters and non sports model can shift with the shifter... so you'll have the rev-match feature no matter what

it's a big pic, but that's what i found on google

Awesome! I saw those pics in google, but wasnt sure if it was from a sport pack, yeah I want th rev matching/ability to shift, but I understand the sport pack has different size tires front and rear? Ive never had to deal with that, Im not sure how rotating the tires works with that set up, Im assuming you woul dneed 2 sets of tires to do it which is expensive. Anyways how about the difference in 37x and 37xs or 37s seats? Is the difference THAT great in bolstering? I love my gle, the seats are decent for long trips, but they dont give me that feeling that Im a part of the car, they dont hug me like they should. Thanks again!

Well we traded in the 07 G35x sedan a few weeks ago... and I haven't sat in a pair of S seats, but I can tell you that the standard seats in the 37x hug you pretty well! During spirited driving you might move a little bit, but you won't be sliding sideways.

^ The sports seats will hug you even more as they have power side bolsters. They also have a thigh extension that I find is extremely comfortable.

The AWD G37x has the same wheels & tires on all 4 corners, no staggered setup, so no rotation worries

On the xS the tires are all 18" Dunlop Sport Maxx front and rear. Sport seats have adjustable bolsters that conform to you. Some complain if your "broad in the beam" there too snug. If you use them regularly shifters are a nice feature. In the xS the rest of the differences are cosmetic. 2 sets of tires if you put on decent mileage don't have to be that expensive since if you put on half the wear annually you double the life of the tires. If you get a lot of snow it is the most efficientand safest set up.

I thought I read that the sport model had a staggered setup? anyways thanks for the replies. The sport seats are alluring, but I know if I buy a used 09, getting the awd and sport package plus the rest is going to force me to pay more, but the thigh extenders and adjustable bolsters do seem valuable from what I have read about them. Im sure I will have it all figured out by June.

G37S has staggered, the G37xS (awd) has the same wheels & tires all around (much more critical for all tire diameters to be identical for AWD functions).
