Another G37x Sedan Snow Performance Report
Another G37x Sedan Snow Performance Report
I have a 2009 G37x Sedan and am lowered with Eibach springs. I am running LM-25 18" tires this winter and finally got a chance to test them out yesterday in our first measurable snow. We had about 4 inches here and I did a lot of driving in untreated side roads.
All I can say is amazing. I probably drove 75 miles yesterday and the only time I slipped is when I intentionally gunned it in a wide open area with no traffic to see if I could get the car to slip. The slip light immediately came on but I barely felt the car slip. I was also able to pull straight up our untreated driveway which if you remember the pictures from my other threads is quite the accomplishment.
I drove sensibly out in the snow but I felt perfectly planted and was able to take turns out into traffic at reasonable speeds without any problems. I did not turn the snow mode on at all.
I previously had a 2006 M35x with all season tires and experienced quite a bit of slipping and lost traction so I attribute the excellent performance yesterday to the LM-25 tires. I have had the tires on for a few weeks and can barely tell the difference between my summer tires and these under normal driving conditions.
I have seen a lot of recent reviews about people complaining about the LM-25's and I do not understand it. I chose the LM-25's over the LM-60's as we do not live in a area that gets a lot of snow so I wanted the better performing tires in non snow conditions. I will post further impressions when and if we get more snow. If you have any questions, let me know
