I found a Service Bulletin pertaining to the Cross-Linking Clear Coat paint. This is from 1994 and was used on the Maxima and ZX models.

Oh., they just didn't want to say "our customers thought the old look was ugly or not as cool" in the marketing literature. IMO.

Thanks whiddles; I think you might be right, although I know must dealers are hurting now and I was hoping that end of year might be a good time to haggle. After all they are trying to make their numbers any sale helps.

 

So is this saying that non-sunroof 6MT's are a thing of the past? I want/need a non-sunroof car due to headroom issues.

Eliminating scratch-shield is a good thing in my book.

Couple of questions...

1. Why delete the 24bit burr-brown DAC in the stereo? Cost savings? Not needed/providing no benifit in the first place?

2. Why delete the auto headlights? Again..cost savings? Maybe not many people even opting for it?

 

Also, what does this mean ? Can you get a Sport 6MT without the Sport package??

 

No...it means...the sport bumper comes ON the 6MT AND sport equipped cars (so X, journey w/sport, etc.).

1 - if you have a direct USB input, there is no DAC conversion taking place - it's digital to digital, so no longer needed.
