Gauge Dials on Startup

The first 15 seconds of this vid shows the gauge dials on a 2009 FX flipping to Max on startup. The "Dial Dance" on startup looks kind of cool and sporty.

However, from what I've seen, it seems that the G's don't do this, correct? Is there any particular reason why not?

Just wondering.

Nope, the G doesn't do this(or at least mine doesn't).
I know my dads 09 Mercedes SL550 does this... and seeing as the FX does it... not sure why our G's dont...

I really like that. Seems something KP Tech could do pretty easily.

the M's are my favorite still. I don't understand why they didn't put those in the G...

Saw those on the Audi S5, I love it and wish why we couldn't get it.

b/c they need to keep the G affordable in the price range... the more goodies , the higher the price.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but I highly doubt it would coast much or anything to implement this. Just put in the programming for the the gauge dials to go up and back when the car is started.
It doesn't really bother me that much though. Since as I said I see it in my dads car.

i was being serious about the cost factor.... remember how people complained (and still complain) that when you get the nav package, the compass in the rearview mirror is deleted? that is still a stupid move but it does save them costs.

look at the features the euro and japanese spec coupes get that the US market won't. it's all b/c of costs and what Infiniti/Nissan think the US market wants and doesn't need.

It doesn't add cost other than the BCM software to move the guages on startup. Chevy has been doing it for quite some time in their cars with BCMs (i.e. Corvette).

I would not have noticed either way. I am too busy getting settled in the car to notice that.

Just start the car with the gas pedal on the floor? Atleast the rpms will do that.

My wife’s Lexus IS250 does that, and I really like the feature. Also, her instrument panel has some other features my G does not have, like light rings around both the speedometer and tach that change color (none, yellow, red) based on driver settings for speed and RPM. For example, she has her speedometer ring set to go to yellow at 75mph and red at 85. She’s had no speeding tickets with this car.
