damn.

it sounds like you'll need to buy the Bose system to get the USB port.

is the screen font better and cleaner on the new version?

Of course it is! IMO the current one looks a bit dated.

Forgot to mention I'm surprised they didn't include rev matching on the 6MT models for 2010. Seems like that would be pretty simple, but maybe there's more to it from a mechanical perspective than what I'm thinking.

Has anyone been able to find out if 08-09 G owners can update their Nav systems to the newer version? That is MUCH more attractive than the current interface. I know the screen would have to be replaced (since the newer one has higher resolution). Is it possible?

Great question. I only hope there is not a slight deminsion difference in the old vs the new. The only other obvious deterant would be price. I replaced the aluminum in my sport with the wood. It gets kind of pricey when the dealers do things. May be this could be an exception.

I was always envious of the Acura weather capability, glad to see Infiniti is stepping up their game. The new nav/infotainment system looks awesome. Maybe this is something 08-09 MYs can upgrade hopefully.

Can we make this a sticky trend? I hate having to go back and look for it.

The heated seats and rear view camera on Journey make this a winner in my book. Now, if they only would make it in split folding rear seats, this will be a perfect car.

In order to get the weather updates I bet you have to subscribe to something on XM for it

And this is why I'm not in awe of such features. If I have to pay extra service charges for it, then it's not worth it to me and thus that particular enhancement is a non-factor when comparing to the current model.

I've had XM before and while it was ok, it wasn't good enough to pay for especially since we live in an area with a large variety of radio stations. Just couldn't justify keeping it after the trial. And I certainly wouldn't pay anything extra at all just to have my car tell me what the weather is like outside the cabin. I won't knock it too much though as I know these details are what set lux cars apart from other cars and some people will pay extra for them. Just not me.

The navigation screen looks a little better but for my needs it's no biggie at all.

I know it was discussed somewhere on this site (can't make search work on my phone), and someone had confirmed that it would involve a lot of hardware switches, so I imagine that it would be cost prohibitive.

Doubt you can just upgrade it with a new DVD... higher resolution etc... that's hardware related...
