Hello all, noob to the board and to the G37 world. I just ordered my wifes G37s 6MT and it will go on the production line in about a week. I look forward to seeking your advise on mods because "stock is just not fun enough"

 

Congrats! You will love it. I got my 2009 last week. Just remember that the stock intake is already designed pretty well.

what options did you get in the 6mt?

 

I got her Blue Slate, Graphite, NAVI, Premium, Illuminated Kick Plates. I had to ordered cause the main reason is everything in Kansas is AWD.

She is coming from a 2005 Mustang GT that I modified that will get put up for show. (only 24K miles) She is the speed demon, I just build them.

 

Very nice. Alright another Blue Slate 6MT sedan.

 

I came from a 2007 Mustang GT. It had a CAI and 93 octane tune. The combo added about 20-25 rwhp. and woke up the car. The G motor is very different. Light on torque, but with a 6MT, it's fun to drive. The 6MT in is very closely spaced. I skip gears all the time. It's does not "feel" like my G is as fast as my Mustang was, but it's probably pretty close. I ran 13.5 @ 104 with my Mustang GT. Horsepower to weight ratio was a bit better in the Mustang. I miss the sound of the Mustang, but that's about it so far.

 

We drove the coupe when deciding on the 6MT. She is coming from the 5-speed and 345HP to the rear axle. She wanted the luxury with a little performance. Her Mustang will always be there to drive. I did notice the G lacking low end torque but your right, it's fun to drive. I think she will be very happy with her choice.
