Floored on the first drive

Hey guys...Just curious about something. I was at the dealership and I was trying to decide between the Sport package or not.

So I originally test drove one without the sport package, and they brought out a brand new G with the sports package (it still had plastic on the seats, etc)

I test drove it and floored it 2-3 times, and drove it pretty aggressively, doing some hard turns.

Anyways...I end up loving it...It just felt more tight and I LOVED the 18" wheels.

SO, I got the car...but I didn't realize I was getting the SAME car I test drove, but they said don't worry the break-in period isnt that important, and they are pretty broken-in from the factory. I was still sort of edgy about it, but it was the only black on black with a sport package on the lot. Also they told me I have a 4 year warranty, etc.

Is my car going to be screwed up? Or should it be alright? Would the problems be more long-term, or is the car going to have ongoing problems in the near future?

Since the 3 floors, and aggresive driving, I've been driving more normal (the way I usually drive) with taking it to 3-4k rpm or so.

Thanks in advance.

You will be fine all engines are broken-in at the factory. Plus the break-in period has 2 theories, break it in slowly and gently and drive it like you stole it.

I would love to see some scientific proofs as to which one works better. I break my cars in gently.
Here's a drive it like you stole it link.

But I don't follow this advice. But I will say it again. I would love to see to actual tests as to which one works best.

I "test drove" the Carrera S I wound up owning and drove it pretty hard.

Have now owned that same vehicle for over 2 years and it appears that early pushing on a new engine did not do it any harm.

If you did not hit any rev limiters, etc. I would not be concerned. You might have done the brakes more harm than the engine if you hit them hard with limited mileage on the vehicle.

I'm sure you will be fine. New cars are beat on all the time on test drives. I wouldn't drive it like that all the time until you're at 500 miles minimum, and after changing the factory oil. You'll be good to go after that.

Scooped it up at Sawgrass Infiniti...I was referred by 3 different people to a salesman there, who cuts right to the chase.

Really nice Dealership...Where did you get yours at? We should meet up sometime!
