Another disadvantage of a I6 is that it's difficult to get good gas mileage. It's very challanging to manage a consistent intake across the long straight head (as compared to 2 short heads on a V6). I haven't checked the 335-bimmer but I bet the mileage isn't as near as good as the G37.
335's typically do better.... due to being Turbo (yes turbos are for EFFICIENCY; everyone just tends to use the efficiency to get more power instead), and direct injected.

I do agree on the intake manifold though
+1. The 335 has the direct injection so the straight six length doesnt come into play with regards to the intake manifold.
