Edmunds comparison: 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD vs. 2009 Infiniti G37S Journey

Conclusion:Ultimately, though, the 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD couldn't claw its way back from the drubbing given to it by the sheer speed of the 2009 Infiniti G37. It doesn't hurt that the G37 really shrinks around its driver when you want it to and expands when you don't. In this respect, the G37 is the four-door sports car you always wanted, the car that lets you change and grow up without forgetting where you came from.

TL with base price of $44k FTL

haven't they learn their lesson from the RL flop

and i'm surprised their 3.7 only makes 305hp...sucks

Outside of performance, the TL Fails looks wise as well.

Very disappointing, considering their old NSX engine was a 3.0 making 260 hp 20 years ago.

It simply does not rev high enough. Nissan and Honda philosophy have reversed; the Nissan has less torque and more revs now.

I'd like to see a 6MT SH-AWD TL vs 6MT G37 sedan, as Acura's "preview" allowed the 6MT TL to handily spank the G35 6MT.

It sure is ugly!

I'd imagine the interior would have a higher-quality feeling than the G's, but with that mug only a mother could love...

I think Acura needs to stop saying "the most powerful Acura ever built" in their TL commercials.

I concur about the looks being ridiculously ugly and who would buy this?

As a Honda fan, (S2000 and '09 Pilot currently) I am truly disappointed with the Acura direction. TL fans are better off with the new V6 Accord.

G37 sedan for me.

I would buy an Accord V6 sedan if it wasn't so unattractive. All the numbers make sense (19/29 mpg, 280 hp and the price). I just cannot bear the thought of seeing the new Accord design on my driveway every morning.

the front of the tl looks like a goofy caricature from the movie cars.

that TL looks horrible they are straying from the roots of japanese imports' beautiful curves and going in the direction of futuristic tin cans.
