Ok, how bad are these rattles and squeaks

I've all but settled on the G37X sedan for our next car.... I've watched as the high altitude and the downshifting issues were understood (still waiting on a TSB however) but all the talk of rattles and squeaks in these cars has got me worried.

I'm a real fussy guy when it comes to cars... noises really bug me to the point of making me insane.

Anyway, I can handle the odd noise if I can either fix it myself or have the dealer do it.... but if it's a never ending chore, that's going to be a problem.

So what do you guys say, are these things well built and solid in the rattle/squeak dept?

G's are WELL known for their squeaks and rattles... sorry, time to look into another vehicle.

(no, not being sarcastic) my G doesn't rattle much, but my wife's G (2k8) does... it's sorta luck of the draw...

Look into a Benz, Bimmer, or Lexus and test drive the vehicle you're about to buy before signing any paperwork.

I plan on takin' it into the stealership but I've done TONS of reading and you can read MUCH MUCH more on g35driver.com (search "rattles") and hopefully you'll have enough processing power and bandwidth for the influx of info, LOL!

Not much can be done most of the time for the rattles and creaks...

Seriously man, I'm trying to make you a happier person -- if you ARE the person you state you are in the original post, you'll get very very annoyed with G rattles...

Little to none in mine... had a couple early on and all were fixed permanently by the dealer. Any car can get rattles... my 2007 BMW 328 had WAY more than my G.

My 09 G Sedan is MUCH more tight than my outgoing 06 Altima. That said, I do have a rear deck rattle that can be easily reproduced. Lots of other people have had it so its probably just not great design. I'm going to try to stop it myself.

I do hear some cracking when the interior is super hot and starts cooling as you turn on the a/c but its nothing out of the ordinary. TONS of other cars have that too. Just get into a new 3 series and push on some of the plastic and it makes simmilar sounds.

BTW: The G is a great great car and a STEAL for the price.

I have one Lexus and while it's pretty tight, it also does the temp change "snap" in the dash. I can live with that.

I don't like these noise threads. Every time I read one, I turn down the music and listen for sounds.....and when you are trying you hear everything. I got no obvious noises or rattles until I think about it. So just turn the music up or roll down the windows.

+1 I never cared much for rattles ... that's what the windows and volume **** are for...

and people should do what the OP is doing BEFORE buying a car... ask about rattles etc...

Yes, the G has rattles -- buy another car.
