Accessory Questions

Hey everyone. I've had my new G37S for a week. I'm thinking about getting a couple of accessories. Here is what I'm thinking about getting:

Window Tinting
Wheel Locks
Illuminated Kick Plates

I can install the wheel locks myself. Has anyone installed the illuminated kickplates, or do I have to have the dealer do that?

I've been given two options for window tinting. One for the "premier tint" at $299 or the "pinnacle tint" for $499. I was told that the "pinnacle tint" was ceramic based (not sure what that means), but it had better heat resistance. Since I live in Texas and the summers here are HOT, I'm looking for something to help with heat reflection. What do you guys think?

Also, what do you think about some sort of nose mask or device to help protect the front of the car from bugs and rock chips? I don't like the look of a nose mask so I'm looking for something clear if they make something like that.

Thanks!
Chris.

No Nose Mask Pleaseeee...Get a clear bra you can usually get those install at most tint shops. The illuminated kick plates are simple to install of course if you dont feel comfortable working with cables and stuff then let the dealer do it but is gonna be expensive..search around the forum i think there is DIY around. About the tint just get 299.00 option to avoid heat reflection you might need to go darker on the tints to avoid sunlight from coming inside the cabin , check your states laws before u decide..Hope it helps im sure others will give you more answers.

^^+1 on all that and the wheel locks are very easy to change out. You could probably look around and find good tint job for $200 or less.

The wheel locks from the dealer are $51 - if you get them elsewhere make sure they're the right type for the wheel. The standard wheel uses a flat/washer style lock against the mag with a tapered point through the lug hole.

Definitely get a clear bra. I had ventureshield installed this past monday it's hardly noticeable, very durable, won't yellow and guaranteed for life. Search and you'll find that ventureshield and 3M are the most common and best films, but 3M seems to score a lower opinion.

Thanks for your opinions on this! Do any of you have pics of the vehicle with tint? I have the Liquid Platinum, so if any of you have pics of that color car with the tint, I'd appreciate seeing them!

Check out this thread. I bought mine a few weeks ago. It has tint all around to the max legal limit in Texas and smoked head and tail lights.

I should add.... Mine (pictured 2 post up) has the TX legal tint also (around 30% on the sides, and 20% on the rear). I usually go 20% all around, but I have heard about a lot of people getting tickets for this recently. I guess in my old(er) age it is not worth the hassle.

I'm hoping we both have a carbon fiber rear diffuser from RavSpec soon!
