S2000 to G37xS thoughts?
That being said, I've been to training events and have driven on simulated low-traction (dishwashing detergent + lots of water), designed specifically to set off AWD and VDC. The AWD reacts so quickly that you'd never notice the switchover. Also, regardless of the AWD/RWD configuration, the VDC won't help you if you're sliding sideways, but in a low traction environment, it will keep you going the intended direction as long as SOME traction is available.
I'm surprised you had such bad results with the blizzaks.... I loved the ones I had.
I still think that RWD + snow tires will provide the OP with a better experience in his G... but if AWD is needed, then AWD is needed.
Hey, just to let you know, you can knock off $8000 from the sticker of a 335 4dr, if you look at edmunds.com you will see a $1500 rebate and a $3000 dealer cash. So, if you find a dealer thats willing to sell them at invoice ( every dealer nowadays) you can basically knock $8000-8500 off sticker, and they got the special financing and the maintenance program so the 335 is a pretty good deal this month
i am telling you now don't get blizzacks. Get Michelin pilot alpin sports in 18" 100 times better then thoses pieses of crap. But if you really do want them I wil have a set forsale with only 5000 KM on them. Going back to Michelins even if the blizzacks are only used for a campfire this summer.
Well I made it for a test drive yesterday and was quite impressed. I really like the suspension on the xS, was a nice ride without being jarring. And unfortunately they didn't have an S so I can't really compare the two. I think what I've decided is to just go with xS this time and if I find that I miss the MT I will look at the S next time. I don't usually keep a car for more then 3-4yrs so not really locked in for that long. I did ask about the lease loyalty incentive but the saleswoman wasn't aware that it was 1k this month and said Nissan does not qualify. So at this point, I'm ready to buy (lease) a G if the deal comes together but in this economy I'm not paying over invoice and I want my loyalty discount
Again, thank you all for your suggestions/recommendations and I'll let you know if/when I'm able to join the group.

Slippery, glad to see you came to a conclusion.
For the record, I have the G37S RWD, and bought some Blizzak LM-25s for my winter set last year. I've driven in 1/2-9+ inches of snow with no troubles, and would recommend them 10x over. Best of luck!

SP, make sure you get the G with the seats that have all the adjustments. My g37 sedan is a sport and the seat to me feels great. I was in a G35 loaner with the basic seat adjustments, and it was not as comfy. good luck with whatever you choose.
These two cars are totally different animals.
Going from an S2000 to a G37, you will actually enjoy driving long distances on the highway. From my friends that have S2000s, they say the highway noise with the softtop is unbearable after a while.
However, the handling will be completely different. S2000 feels like a go-kart compared to the G37 sedan.
