I don't think in will be in the 2010 G.

My guess is that it will be in the NEXT generation G....

Now..the last G generation went for 4 model years 2003-2006. To stay really competitive it would be nice if the G receives its next full overhaul for 2011 Model year (think August 2010). That would mean the current generation would sell from model years 2007-2011.

As long as the next car is does everything slight "er" (better, faster, etcc..) I'm sure it will be a winner. I would guess the car will be evolutionary, and thats FINE...b/c its already very competitive. Its hard to make huge leaps in advacement when you're already doing things very well.

My guess is 2011 (If that is the next generataion) and I'd say ~350HP with direct injection and better fuel economy numbers than the current car.

I know I'm ranting, but at some point, I think they will do like the new Z and hold the line on weight gain..or maybe even a 50lb loss.

 

1st gen went till 2007, so they prob wont redesign until 2013

 

look at the M-series sedan from Infiniti... it went through minor changes for the exterior and interior for 2008MY, then 2009MY they drop the 7AT in the RWD M35's, and all M35's got the VQ35HR blocks... and the 2010MY is a full redesign. it's hard to tell what will be coming for the 2010 model year

 

i doubt it will show in the g cars since they have brand new motors. the m has yet to get an upgrade for its v6 so it would be a great time to bring it down. however, all they're doing is different fuel injection so who knows.

Yes. If you look at Infiniti's past, they do change motors often, while keeping a particular chassis

Also, consider the similarities. This is not a groundbreaking change that forces them to redesign everything else. Only the motor's internal parts are different, not the mounts, or anything else.

 

Oh please name them. and before you say I30/I35 that was a mid-cycle refresh with a new motor, and the V35 got a different motor for the 6mt in 05 but other then that it was the same motor from 03-06.

 

The M for 2009 got the vq35HR while the 2008MY had a mild refreshen for the exterior and interior. The rwd v6 also got the 7at while the awd got the 5at from the G. Why would they do the before the new 2010 model? Who knows.

Please ilimunate the powers that be at Infiniti, so they install a 3.7 TT, DI engine on a V36 G Sedan. If they do that I promise you I'll go to church every Sunday and with your help I'll be able to buy one...

 

I seriously doubt they will come out that early. Maybe 2013 or 2014 is when they will probably come out with the concept car.

Enough revisions of the engine for you? I'm sure there's more, but that's what I have off the top of my head.

The V35 mid-cycle refresh was pretty significant... compare the interiors.

 

We are talking about motors NOT interiors

 

Mike was referring to the motors and maybe SAE HP Ratings.

the

03-04 sedan had hp ratings of 260...

then the 05-06 auto sedan went up to 280hp to match the G35 coupes

03-07 auto coupes all had the same motors the whole time. 05-06 then came out w/ the rev matching

if you're talking about just motors....

the VQ35DE is out, and of course then the VQ35 rev up, then VQ35HR, and VQ37... but on average every 2 years something has happened to the G's for improvement and upgrades.

people still wonder why the '08 G37 coupes didn't hav ethe 7AT since it was fully redesigned.... we'll stick to the motor part, not the tranny

 

If different factory tuning isn't considered a different motor (different ECU part number), then I guess we should ignore ALL different part numbers, and say that they all run a VQ, which is essencially the same design for the last 15 years.

You can boil it down to essentially changes in bore, stroke, and tuning.
