Exclamation High-Pitch/Frequency Noise Poll

Hi,

Infiniti service adviser asked me to conduct this survey so that he can report back to the corporate office with regarding the 2009 Sedan.

Vehicle: 2009 Journey Sedan, Premium, Navigation Package.

Problem: Driver hears High Frequency noise (such as ones you would hear during the hearing test) from the front Driver/Passenger side. Noise can be heard while audio is OFF, and when the gas paddle is pressed, and the car’s traveling 5mph+. Noise intermediately goes away once the car comes to a stop, while RPM is at ideal.

** Edit: This also happen when your car is PARKED, and RPM goes above 1200 RPM. The sound goes away when the RPM drops.

Please Test you car and report back so that Infiniti can trouble shoot the problem.

Thank you

Nope. Had mine for a month. I'll specifically listen in to that area of the car, but I've been cruising to the lovely soundtrack my new baby's 3.7L makes and I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Hi guys - I have a question on this. Does the pitch vary with RPM?

Just curious if it's an alternator noise getting into the electrical system somewhere

There's other threads about this. It's not a ground loop or alternator noise. It doesn't vary with speed or RPM, at least mine doesn't.

Got ours a week ago & only in it twice - once as driver; once as passenger. Didn't hear it, but will listen with no audio on next time. Waiting for repair of potholes due to all the snow/ice/salt of past week - roads are a mess & still lot's of salt around....

Thanks guys, i didn't notice it before but i went in the car and turned the radio off to see if i hear the noise and low and behold, i heard it. I can hear it whenever i depress the accelerator pedal and you don't have to be traveling 5+ mph. I shifted in neutral and just tap/slightly depress the accelerator pedal and i hear it. Whenever i release the pedal then the sound is gone. If anyone finds out a solution to this i would greatly appreciate it.....for the moment i would just keep the radio on and turn the music up .
