i filled up the tank.. which is 20 gallons..right? then did a bunch of highway driving... and then a bunch of beating on it. so i guess its a 50/50 deal.. in the end made it to 350 miles. so im getting 17.5 miles per gallon.

this is an 08 6spd and i just hit 1200 miles.

Today I took a road trip fo about 140 miles mostly highway at around 65-70mph with few brief slow spots of 40-45mph. I topped off the tank few days ago and had already put 12 mi around the house with 18 mpg. Distance to empyt showed 288 mi at the start. At the end of 140 mi with 3/4 tank left distance to empty now says 362 mi and avg mpg reads 24. One thing about this car, it coasts super well when I put it in neutral. Cd is .29 but it feels a little better.

Just returned from a trip from S.F. to Eugene Or, Highway 101 most of the way, and then to Portland along I-5. What a great drive, I loved it (except for I-5) and recommended it! It was even fun passing up the logging trucks on the up-grades.

My mileage: 24.5 on the way up, 25.5 on the way back. I may be the mileage champ for a drive like this. I did take it easy most of the way and kept the RPMs down. Oil dip stick went down a little less than an 1/8 of an inch when I got back. I figure this about 2-3 oz.

My 6MT gets about 300 even on a full tank (mixed city and highway driving).

This car is good at swallowing premium gas but I didn't buy this car for fuel economy. This car is a great piece of Japanese technology and fun to drive but it sure hits the pocket book in fuel costs. I'm glad premium has dropped to $4.15 at a local Chevron station.

Consistantly 21.1 MPH over 6 tanks of gas. 36000 miles on the car. Happy as hell considering my Mazda 6 got less with a 220 horse engine. Automatic by the way.

Sub traffic I get 20 to 21 and on the hwy I get 26 to 28. I got 26.7 on a 431 mile trip. Tucson to Prescott and back. Phoenix traffic in between. If I put my foot in it I can see the gauge go down. I'm having trouble with gasoline. I use Shell Prem, the anti-knock sensors retard the spark at low rpms when I accel after a corner or just starting out. It causes the engine to bog/stumble below 2000 rpm. Any one else have the problem?

My prefered gasoline is also Shell Prem. I have never had what you described happen to me.

26 to 28??!!! Are you sure you are talking about the G37?!!

Dude, the best avg. miles/gallon I'm getting is like 18 max 19 with 70% city driving. Sometime it is 15!!!

Are you sure the car is on when you are driving? lol

From the Infinity site, looks like the MT rates 1mpg less than the AT city (17mpg vs 18 mpg), but picks up 2mpg hwy (26 vs 24 mpg). The sedan gets about 1 mpg less, with the AWD getting less mpg than that.
BTW, my 1st post here. I've been researching my next car, and as of now, looks like I'll be shopping for a used G37s 6MT, either blue or red on black

Wow. Drove to Houston this weekend (little over 200 miles) and got 26.1 mpg (all highway). Got 23.2 mpg on the way back home (retreating from Gustav). In town though, I consistently get just a little over 15 mpg (same as my RX8). Coming from an RX8, I guess I am used to high revs to get some torque and in a G37S 6MT I probably could shift at lower rpm's to conserve.........NAAHHHH!!!!
