Enthusiasts auto care: Eugene turkov

Ive been apart of the VQ community for 11 years and have owned several g37, g35, 350z. Ive been tuned by all the big household tuners and some Ive had lackluster results with, drivability issues, fueling issues, things not working correctly or safety concerns. My two years working with Eugene turkov has been the best experience. Eugene's approach to tuning/calibration is the way things should be done. Eugene calibrated my car to make max power, reliability and spot on drivability. There was no need for multiple maps like most tuners. His tune incorporated eco, performance and multiple custom options and failsafes all in a single tune without having to switch maps. His tune performs flawlessly. Eugene is patient and explains every step of the tune process and gives detailed analysis unlike most tuners. I live in NC and he's does remote tuning all the way from CA. Unlike most remote tuners Eugene had be collet data under any and every driving condition and he computes that data so car is perfectly dialed in. Eugene also tuned my supercharged g37 and he had it dialed in perfectly. Eugene focus on forced induction support/ explanation of what's being done in the tune, focus on precision of fuel control, timing, maximizing power / economy, and driving enjoyment was by far done safely and exceptional. Car drove like Na out of boost and the transition from vaccum to positive boost is smooth. There was no surging, hesitation, hiccups, weird fuel trims ect and the power delivery was absolutely amazing. Eugene also was able to do multiple custom failsafes to account for lean condition, failed fuel pump, failed ethanol content sensor, custom timing map control ect. Eugene has been very dependable whenever I needed his help and knows VQ's like the back of his hand. I trust his work and I highly recommend you tune with him. You won't regret it.

I have followed Eugene for many years as well and am working with him currently on a tune (taking me a while to gather the 500Mb of log files he requires as I don't drive much).

I agree with all the points you have made above as he knows this platform very well and understands all the tradeoffs Nissan had to make with the factory tune in order to meet hundreds of use cases.

Eugene essentially looks at your specific use case and adopts a single tune (timing, knock sensor management, AFR, etc.) to meet your needs, both performance and economy.

If one needs flame maps and burble tunes, he's not that tuner.
