Alarm/Kill Switch - 2010 G37S Coupe
My 2010 G37S Coupe has been broken into 3 times in the last 3 yrs. but not stolen. 2 days ago my neighbors Q60 sedan got stolen. Since then I live in a gated building with cameras yet I sense the urge to up the security with either an alarm system, a kill switch or both. My locksmith recommended a kill switch.
Curious if you have any of these installed and what you'd recommend/thoughts.
Thanks.

IMO alarms are only good for noise. If someone wants to steal the car they will. I’ve always liked the quick release steering wheels. While yes they’ll get into the car and steal stuff (if you keep stuff in your car) but it makes it harder to drive without a steering wheel and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a car thief carry a steering wheel. A kill switch with a quick release is the best option to me
There are any number of methods and practices you can utilize. Alarms, kill switches, OBD port locks, "The Club," etc. You just have to come up with whatever option best suits your needs. Search here and you'll find a ton of ideas.
While nothing is a 100% guarantee, anything is better than nothing.
Me, personally, I have a few layers in place but won't discuss here.
