Should I fix before selling?
Should I fix before selling?
Hello,
I am new to forum but single owner of 2009 Infiniti G37S Coupe Automatic fully loaded minus adaptive cruise and light door seals. It has been my wife's car and daily driver since new. 100% factory original with 128K miles. Nothing but standard maintenance and tires every 40K miles (yea she does not drive it all that hard). Today we just got on list for new 2024 Lexus IS 500 F Performance Premium. So in near future we will be selling her car. It has few cosmetic issue and I wondering what others have done for these issues. The chrome looking front gill is rock chipped pretty good. The steering wheel has the rubbery paint flacking off. The shifter **** is scratched up. Few paint chips in hood and one paint scrape on the rear wheel well. The picture is from early years in Phoenix. The Scottsdale Infiniti dealer hosted a once a year Track day with 3 15min sessions and SCCA licensed copilot. The set up lunch and it was fun day.
How much and how difficult is it to replace the chrome grill.
Should I pull the steering wheel scrape/remove all flaking paint and just rattle can it? What have people done for this as fix.
I have paint guy as we have fixed rock chips before so that I got handled.
Thank you for any suggestions.
In my opinion, I would probably just leave it 'as is'. All the items you mentioned are pretty standard for older vehicle and the flaking steering wheel is pretty common on the G. The fact that it is one owner and low-ish miles, the potential buyer would have to expect all these wear and tear items to be present. If you repainted or fixed things up,, that might make the new owner think you were trying to cover up larger issues. If it was me and the car was a single owner car and I hopped into the G and saw a fresh steering wheel I would wonder what else has been covered up. Leave as is is my opinion. Good luck with sale! The 500 will be a nice reliable daily driver
