what you are thinking of might be high flow cats?

generally the more free flowing an exhaust, the easier it is to get some of that burble sounds.
So you’re saying HFC can be used for burble? I just know cats are not meant for stuff like that. but high flow means it withstand a lot more? sorry i’m still learning.

high flow cats is not recommended because it still has the catalyst materials inside.

what happens if you do is the material burns out.

From what I've heard from other people, burbles won't work with HFC. If they do it's very quiet. The general consensus is if you want a mild burble you want test pipes and a catback exhaust. If you want the AK-47 bangs and flames you want non-resonated test pipes with a single exit or unrestrictive dual catback. You must know that if you run any burble tune on your car it will blow out resonators with any sort of packing and also ruin any non-metal cheap exhaust gaskets very quickly. I know this from experience! LOL My first set of resonated test pipes had Zero packing left in them after the first few months. I would recommend the Motordyne art pipes because the resonators don't have packing in them to get blown out. I currently have resonated test pipes with resonated fast intentions exhaust. The car isn't very loud till you get on the gas. I have the "mild burble" setting from z1. I will say it is loud as ***** when you hit the pops under a bridge or parking ramp. PS mine shoots little flames with the MILD burble tune HA! Here is a video of mine.

I have burble tune from admin on HFC, I dont use it, but when I used to, it was a good noise, it wasnt overly loud and obnoxious. But as an intellect I would like to maintain the integrity of not only my exhaust system but my motor

Not really replying to this thread as to help you with answers but i am wondering if i can put hfcs on mine and have it get louder than it is now. Because i was told even with a tune and no check engine light test pipes will still fail a state inspection. Even if i keep my car under 5k and get emission exempt i still will fail the safety inspection.

if you know a guy, or your area/state doesnt physically test for emmisions, usually TP's are fine. HFC are going to be louder than stock but quieter than test pipes.

Usually people who run TP's usually get flame map, but I guess they can ask for burble instead

This is usually the reason people put HFC on their cars. I don't think TPs will ever pass an emissions test. HFC would be a great option for someone who has to pass an emissions test. I went with test pipes because they are lighter, way cheaper, and make a little more power. Other than them being quieter and passing emissions I wouldn't even consider HFC because of the price. I know some people just take the cats off after they pass the emissions test. Or put them back on when going for one. I'm glad I live in a somewhat free state and don't have to worry about emissions, YET. LOL.
If you want the car louder just get a decent quality catback exhaust if you haven't already. My FI exhaust sounded great for the little while I had the stock cats on.

Your city/state is definitely on the stricter side.

Atlanta is much more relaxed, as long as you don't have a CEL, most places will pass you. GA checks for cats but a lot of shops are too lazy, especially on lowered cars. Nice things about resonated test pipes is that it looks like aftermarket cats so even if they check, you think everything is fine.

I've never had any trouble.
