Replacing dashboard - what is the best model year to use?
My dashboard looks terrible and I know I need to replace it. I’m gonna grab a used one but is there any model year where the dash is less prone to cracking? Seems like most post are concerning the first couple years of the G37. Would a 2013 dashboard be more resistant to cracks and stickiness or is it just a luck of the draw and taking care of it?
Obviously the newer the better but in the end it all comes down to the luck of the draw. Keep in mind that even a 2015 dash (the latest you can go) is still 8 years old at this point...
In all honesty, I doubt that even a new dash from Infiniti would be any different.

Knowing Nissan, they didn't do anything to fix the issue.
I have a 2014, it's fine, but whenever I see a messed up dash I try to find the year. I have seen as "new" as 2012 being cracked/sticky, so I have no hope that my 2014 will be any different.
BTW, while you are replacing your dash, you may want to consider replacing, modifying or bypassing your front sunroof drains.
My 2014 with 55k miles had 5-6 liters of water under the carpets from the sunroof drain being bad. And oh, Nissan used that crap drain on EVERY Nissan/Infiniti and despite it obviously being a horrible design, it was never improved. So, I doubt they improved the dashes either.

So I made the mistake years ago using a duster to try and remove stuck hair and dust from my dash. I had not had a sticky dash for the longest time. Well it was now sticky and red fibers then became stuck. After years of not touching the dash out of fear I finally said eff it and took a drying towel and rubbed the crap out of the dash. Worked amazing! It seems to have removed most of the sticky residue. This is just what I did, your results might be different.
