I recently purchased a 08 g37 with an engine swap. according to the seller the new/ used engine was taken out of a 2013 g37 journey. I noticed the 2013 has a 7at while the 08 g37 comes with the 5at would there be any issues when accelerating? I always feel like its compressing a lot as if there were more gears to go through. Btw my 5at struggles when i floor it from a dead stop especially when shifting from 1st-2nd gear it loses power and makes you go forward and then bam! it comes back and pulls hard. I might change the trans to a 7speed later on not sure if its possible or if theres another trans I should install instead. Thanks in advance for any help!

 

The engine is the engine. has nothing to do with the transmission.
