Rear fender chip guard

I recently bought a G37 and it came with some kind of chrome accent on the rear. It looks hideous and seems like its chipping away. I tried looking up anything on this trim but I couldn't find info about it so I'm not sure if its OEM or not.

(Apologies for the large low quality image, I didn't have any close-up's of the trim so I screenshotted the closest image I had of it.)

Those are vinyl decals commonly called "rock guards." Infiniti calls them "fillets."

This thread has more info about them with suggestions on how to remove them.

Thanks so much. I'll try to remove it myself some day.

A cotton rag with gasoline will remove the mold from it. It will give you the best look until you can come up with a replacement.

I wouldn't leave it off too long btw. I made that mistake and that area of my car looks sandblasted.

I took mine off a few years ago because it was all yellowed and fugly, which looked like pooh against Moonlight White.

While it looks better without, I also now have a few rock chips there. It's not "sandblasted" by any measure, just a few chips. However... be forewarned, it's there for a valid purpose.
