Harness Bar / Brakes / Shifter

Hi guys,

First time owning a 6spd manual car. I've been looking ALL OVER google for the last HOUR, I cannot find a harness bar for the life of me. I'm going to be replacing my front seats and im getting a 5-point harness setup to boot. All I keep finding are universal kits. Please point me in the right direction!

Brakes: Since my car is an S what makes my brakes so special? I'm getting conflicting search results

Shifter: I see B & M makes a short throw. Now dont flame me, im coming from Mustang foxbody world where your short throw shifter was your first mod. How do you guys like it that have it installed ? did it really clean up the shifting that much besides the shorter throw?

Appreciate the responses!

I would not recommend a 5 point harness without a full cage.

Welcome to the forum.

The Akebono BBK has 4 pot front calipers, and both fronts and backs are polished, with huge vented rotors. It's a really attractive set of brakes.

Heck yes a STS is a great mod for these cars. Get the RJM pedal assembly too.

thanks! I’ll definitely check that out. I should have been more definitive on the question. Since my car is an S, I was curious if the brakes were different than a base model car?

Yes, they certainly are different than the non-Sport Coupe.

The thing about Nissan's BBK that always impressed me was their design continuity with the rear calipers. So many BBK setups from the factory have these huge, gorgeous front calipers, but junky little rears.

I was outside just now looking at them. I never realized how big they were, until it clicked im looking at a 19" wheel and it takes up that much of that interior real estate

is that a 2 piston or 4 piston caliper? forgive my ignorance.

4-piston front calipers, made by Akebono and branded by Nissan. 14" rotors in the front, 13.8" in the rear.

Insofar as daily driving goes, and IMO, they don't mean anything except bragging rights. And to be honest, those huge heavy rotors are a drag. (LW rotors are a genuine, worthwhile mod if you like to drive the car like you stole it, however the cost for 2-piece rotors... yikes!)

Understandable if the brakes weren't on your radar when buying the car. But pretty cool now that you realize it, huh?

My dad is into road racing and is now considering buying a Sedan since he carts my kids around all the time. He can't believe how big the brakes are lol
