Mystery water in floor board

My car has now started puddling around the back seat area behind the passenger front. I have taken out the seat a little to see if I can tell where it is coming from but the only thing I can tell is that it is coming up from the back right bolt???? No carpet is wet from the sides or the front? Does anyone know where this might be coming from? Possible that it is also the seat belt bolt.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I have a 2010 G37 Sedan. I just had this happen first time last week. I noticed my coolant is leaking. I’m thinkin it’s my coolant That’s leakin into the floor board, you’ve heard anything else?

After removing the backseat and pulling up ALL the carpet to one side I found more water in the front as well as the back. I do not believe mine is coolant issue but I also think maybe it's a slow leak as I had a lot in there and maybe just now it was high enough to go above the styrofoam and the thick padding we have. I am leaning towards a tube from my sunroof that goes down the "a" pillar but will test that this Thursday as I am waiting a long time for things to get really dry in there. I don't want any musty smell if possible.

I Will let you know that I find out and try to get some pics later.

it's your sunroof drain located on the back of your firewall, I fixed mine a month ago. there is a lot of videos on youtube regarding the DIY fix as well. Good luck

Thanks, I have checked that and it was actually slipping through the side of the windshield that I just had put in a couple of months ago. I checked that sunroof drain at the firewall and it looked fine so when I tested the water again it was seeping around the windshield of all things. It is now at that shop getting repaired.

Thanks

I realized the yellow nipple at the end of the sunroof drain was clogged and really dirty. Therefore when the rain pours the water stops at the end of the yellow nipple and floods into the firewall eventually wetting your BCM and the floor board. So I got rid of the yellow nipple and use a party cup bendy straw (sold at the 99cent store) as an extension and used small hose clamps to hold the straws in place and then ran the hose and straw completely through the firewall leaving it impossible for the water fall inside the fire wall. I put my big boy pants on And did the same thing for the driver side. Any questions feel

So DJg37S, if I understand correctly you eliminated the nipple? If so, how did you seal the hole in the firewall?

Do not automatically assume it is the sunroof drain grommet leaking. My front sunroof drains are bypassed and I was still getting water leaking into the car. Turned out it was the door weather stripping failing at the small tweeter/mirror. If you have any water on your door sills- check your door seals!

Just my 10¢ based on my experience. YMMV

Thanks, I sure will. Interesting enough, I have a whistle in the right front quadrant of the car that shows up at around a 90 MPH combined speed and cross to headwind, which is eliminated by cracking open anything else. Hard to pinpoint by myself, and just as hard to find a road w/o speed traps and a passenger wiling to go along for the ride. The whistle/squeal could be coming from that stripping that is not quite closed and the same could for sure also let in water. I'll check it and get back. Do you have a coupe or a sedan?

2008 Coupe. I had the exact same issue as the OP in this thread. And, as mentioned before, I knew for a fact that it was not the sunroof drain or the firewall wiring harness seal as I already addressed those potential issues.

I have the exact same problem, did you just replace the entire weather strip? What did you do fix it?

I replaced the upper "body" seal which slowed the leak a lot, but I still have a small drip in the area where the three seals (body/door/mirror) meet. Right now I am waiting for the door seals to arrive so I can just replace everything at once. Unfortunately, the door panel must be removed to replace the mirror support seal, but, that will give me a opportunity to complete yet another project that I've had on the back burner. Of course that depends on whenever the USPS decides to actually DELIVER the damn package...

It is safe to say that as these Coupes, and 'Verts, age, those seals will become more of a issue. Mine were original to the car (12/13 years old) and even with routine cleaning and lubricating with Shin Etsu these seals were showing their age.

I'll update with part numbers and outcomes at a later time.

Do you have pictures showing the specific parts?
