I have not looked into that one. The facebook guy chose the Red Sport because he has the GTR twin turbo conversion kit on his G. Makes sense I guess. Last update he was looking into see if the RS drive shaft would be a direct fit also. That would make the swap a virtual bolt in upgrade. We can dream can't we? I've always wanted to do FI but the cost has been just too high for me to justify. Being able to knock several thousand dollars off?..Tempting more than ever.

 

Nissan changes things so little I wouldn't be surprised if the RS ds would be a direct fit. One way to check would be compare wheelbase of G37c to Gen2 Q60, if they are the same, they likely utilize many things the same.

BTW, I just checked, both are 112.2".

They are essentially the same car.

Years ago I bought a 2004 I35 that was wrecked at 5K miles, and put EVERY DARN PART into a 1997 FWD Maxima. The seats, harness, engine, everything bolted right in. Only difference between the 2 cars? One was an early gen OBD2 and the Infiniti was advanced OBD2 with NATS.
Even the back seats fit perfectly into the older car.

Nissan doesn't change a thing.

Even the new Titan (non-XD) is just a re-skinned Gen1 Titan.

What am I missing here? OP (or hijacker) is just trying to change their shift ****? Why is this an issue? I changed mine just fine.

Someone earlier said intake, exhaust & tune. Bear in mid that if your CAI draws air from under the hood (on either side of the engine) you’re drawing warm engine-heated air which won’t boost hp no matter how nice they look. If your CAI draws air from in front of the radiator or elsewhere outside the engine compartment, then that will serve well but make sure you have some sort of rain/splash shield. As for tune there are good options available if searched on this site. As for exhaust, make it at least a cat-back exhaust (axle-back won’t do much for hp) with 2.5” diameter pipes (bigger than that won’t necessarily add hp). Milder suspension mods work wonders for handling. Eibach sway bars front and rear with NEW links have been great for me but other brands will do - just don’t go for the cheapest options as they may be worse than OEM). I advise against substantially lowering the car because it’s already got a low, aggressive stance and life is full of speed bumps, potholes and curbs (don’t wanna back up into a curb with your new exhaust tips taking a hit) and I’ve seen too many “slammed” G’s and 370Z’s with fender rubbed tires and damaged front air dams - what’s the point? Perhaps the best way to improve performance and even improve braking would be to buy lighter wheels (same size as stock) if they’re available. Remember, “adding lightness” is the same as adding horsepower - who wouldn’t want that?
