Mystery sound! Driving my NUTS

Hey guys. So a few months ago i noticed a light rattle noise coming from what seemed to be up by the front window by where the dash meets window area. Rattles and strange noises drive me crazy. Cant stand them. So 1 saturday i tore into the car trying to find out where and what it was. Never found anything. But noise seemed to go away. Now its back. It doesnt sound like suspension. Its not a clunking and doesnt sound like it coming from either right or left side. It doesnt do it even when i go over say train track or something substantial. Its here and there and seems to be coming from say under the hood/back of notor where glass/ hood/ dash area. Wanted to know if anyone has had this same issue and can point in direction... thanks in advance

On the engine bay side, the plastic trim that touches the lower part of the windshield may be tapping the glass if there's not some foam insulation/weather stripping/rubber or something else to fill in the small gap and to stop those parts from vibrating and causing the noise that you're possibly hearing.

I checked that. Everything seems to be there. All the weather stripping around engine hood is there and in great shape. You talking sbout the black plastic vent piece that meets at the window? Under the wipers?

Yes, the black plastic vent piece that meets at the window and is under the wipers. That's what I'm talking about.

I believe there is a TSB for "lubricating the windshield".

My car will get a dash rattle when it's cold but I just turn up the radio.

Ignorance is bliss.

A co-worker in New Jersey who is a G owner had a similar problem and his dealer told him about the TSB, performed it on my coworker's car and stopped the noise.

Here is the rattle drove me nuts for weeks
I thought it was coming from somewhere behind the steering wheel column.....as it turns out it was the plastic trim inside the driver's door handle.

While driving you can put your hand on it and see if the rattle stops....thats how I found it

g/l
