Service engine light came on. I need help

I have stocked 2008. I recently hit a deer but there was no damage other than a wire underneath the car, close by the exhaust was ripped out. As soon as I get back into my car the engine light came on. I have no clue what this wire is and why it would of caused my engine light to turn on and I hope that's the problem and nothing else got damaged.

May be an oxygen sensor. Get the code checked out to pin point the problem.

HI edwin, welcome to the site, sorry to about your accident.

Can you post pictures of the wire and where it is on the car?

Bank 1 is the passenger side. Sensor 2 is the downstream 02 Sensor (the one in your cat[as opposed to the one in the header])

It looks like the connector clip has sheared off and you have been left with the pins, you should be able to see the pin arrangement on the drivers side cat for reference, unfortunately I don't know where you'd get the connector if its the connector on the harness side.

maybe try the classified on here for someone parting out a car there are ususally a couple. you may also want to try car-part.com or hollanderparts (they are aggregators for wrecking yards)

If its the connector on the sensor side you can just buy a new sensor, the part number is 226A0-ET000.

The connectors may be slightly different depending on the year so make sure to get one for your year

good luck

There are aftermarket options from Rockauto for fairly cheap and Amazon too.

Until you get it fixed, tape off each terminal so they aren't shorting out on each other
