What is this port?

Long story short. I purchased the car over a year ago. I saw this port and just dismissed it as an odb2 port. Clearly I was wrong. Lol

Any idea what it is? Yes that's a button on it.

To be honest I don't know. I didn't actually get under and look. I just took that picture while sitting in the seat.

I added a few more pictures. It seems to run with the rest of the wiring harness. I have no idea what it is or what that box is with the "MIN/MAX" on it.

Wonder I'd they used it to run display for other sensors like oil temp engine vacuum af mixture off that port. Hook up an odb2 tool to that port and see if it reads the car

It kind of looks like those theft deterrent modules/immobilizers dealers used to use. So before they would test drive a car you had to have the other part...and then once they sold the car they just left it there. :/

Hmm I wonder if it's a motion or tilt sensor for the alarm. Note where it's set to now and crank it up to max then lock the car and shake it to see if it sets off the alarm.

i have the same exact thing on my car. i bought my car from infiniti in cerritos CA they told me its the theft detergent that they can activate for you and you can log on to a system online to see where your car is. I'm not sure if this is true my car was a prior lease vehicle before they sold it to me. anybody else have this?

Its hard to tell following the wiring in the pics but my first guess would be that its the dead-man switch as part of an aftermarket alarm system and the box with Min-Max is a motion sensor attached to the steering column

Appears to be a dealer installed product from Karr - typically these installs aren't the best, i.e. butt connectors, t-taps, etc. and if this was in my car I would remove it ASAP properly soldering and securing any wire the installer touched to prevent future issues related to the install.
