Definitive answer on the best stage 1 Clutch and Flywheel upgrade?

Hey everyone,

I just picked up my G37 with 114k miles, and I think it'll need a new clutch eventually. From my understanding, the stock flywheel is 30+ lbs, so I'd like to get into the low 20s on the flywheel, with good daily driving ability.

Which brand is the most trusted? There are a lot of scattered threads about clutches and flywheels, but I haven't seen a consensus about the best daily driver clutch/flywheel upgrade.

I recently read somewhere that people were having big issues with JWT (Jim Wolf Technology). Like clutches last less than 10k. I'd say it was installed error, but multiple people from different parts of the country chimes in with the same issue.

Z1 seems popular though!

Thanks for the info! What about SPEC? They boast about how they machine to within a 0.01 cm tolerance, vs. the 0.10 industry standard.

And then there is Exedy. Any thoughts?

Honestly I'm not sure. I know exedy has a good rep. I haven't had to look too much into a new clutch yet. But one day lol.

The best upgrade to keep it like stock is the Zspeed ez street stage 2 kit. Can handle 450 tq and feels just like stock. Also comes with a HD CSC and 21 lb flywheel.

Pretty sure I will be going the exact same route when the time comes.... unless this thread gets filled up with a different recommendation.
