That would be really funny and sad. Then again, I know I would deserve that speeding ticket and gladly pay it.

Paying a speeding ticket or footing the repair cost should one exist is not a problem for me given that I bought the car. If I can't afford the cost of maintenance and repairs, then I shouldn't really be owning this car.

For me, it is more of a question of should there have been earlier signs and warnings before that drastic unevenness on the road. A lot of drivers (good or bad) did not expect that section of the road (northbound and southbound) to have such unevenness . If there were not adequate warnings ahead of time, I would expect the city to pay for any sustained damages. However, BB made some good points and for me, it is a learning experience.

Although my video shows me going northbound, it is the same going southbound. I saw a Prius rear-ended by another driver at the same general location on my way home back to the city yesterday. I hope they put up more warnings and earlier.

The main problem I have with your defense is worrying about the guy behind you. If the guy behind you can't stop because you brake to avoid a road hazard, then the guy behind you will be at fault in an accident. It is his responsibility to maintain a proper distance to avoid accidents.

I agree with you completely. However, accidents no matter how major or minor can result in people getting hurt. I like to avoid accidents at any cost if possible. If I had to choose, I rather my G was damaged than risking the guy behind me rear-ending me. An accident at that speed can result in both of us getting hurt.

Another thing is, getting another new car for me is as simple as negotiating for the right price and paying it off before driving it off the lot. I did that 5 years ago with my G37xS. However, a permanent injury from an accident or a loss of life is irreversible and not worth risking regardless of cost/price. I am in the business of saving lives.

I know my word is nothing around here, I'm just some guy on the internet, but I'd like to thank you for not getting defensive and actually understanding that BB wasn't attacking you in any way. You actually understood that he was just laying some knowledge. Most people on forums are quick to jump at another's throat but you were able to recognize that he wasn't being negative in any way. Thank you.

I am very familiar with public road construction. Typically, it's not the state themselves doing the work but it is a contractor for the state. The contractor indemnifies the state for anything that happens on the road during construction. If your client file a claim with the state they will defer to the contractors insurance company and you will be dealing with them.

Hello Monytx. Well, thank you too. Let us just say that I was brought up right by my parents and that has carried over into my adult life.

Good post Monytx, and well-played G37xS-Life
Hopefully your tires didn't fare worse than some scuffs.

Thank you VMastros. I will definitely keep this knowledge in mind should the need arise.

Thanks Blnewt. I hope the tires are fine. So far, they are and holding pressure.

I will be upgrading my wheels and tires in the near future. Currently, waiting for my coilovers to arrive before deciding on the actual wheels. In terms of tires, I am waiting for Michelin to release their Pilot Sport 4S in the size of 255/40R19 in July 2017. At least that is what Michelin said. I can't wait to get everything installed and upgraded.

Most cities are exempt from this kind of claim. Same goes for if a city vehicle like police car fire truck hits your car it's a no fault claim
