That is way off. It's not even the right shade of grey. There might be a slight difference but it should not be that much of a difference. Personally that would drive me nuts, so I would get it painted the same day I bought it lol.

I'm pretty sure whoever was the original owner just bought the bumper and did not go through a painter related to infiniti in which they tried to match the paint but just couldn't replicate it perfectly. I bought a can of touch up paint from a paint store where they used a machine to mix it all together and it still came out darker than my paint as well as the touch up paint that i bought from infiniti themselves. You could get that in to get it sanded down and then repainted to perfectly match, but thats going to cost you at least about 600 depending on where you are.

That's way too much. As long as there is no actual damage on the bumper, it shouldn't cost more than $300. I paid $250 to have my IPL bumper painted by a shop that is well known for painting exotics. Came out perfectly matched to the rest of my paint.

well Im not sure how my costs are compared to you, but the bay area is fairly expensive along with a 9.25% sales tax as well. i have a small hit on my bumper from a hit and run and the damage fix was 500 alone. from there the quote for paint supplies and labor to sand down and repaint the whole bumper was about another 550 with my whole total being in the 1200 range. was your bumper already painted before? or was the only thing involved on yours just painting solely? that could be the difference in the price right there.

It was a blue IPL bumper from the time they were on ebay for $450. But ya it was just sand and repaint.

The paint match, shaded tail lights.

It can be corrected with a proper paint blend. People saying it will never be perfect is somewhat true, but to this degree? It should have matched a lot better than what was done. I wouldn't waste the money or the effort on that car.
You'd be surprised what Carmax will try to sell. I bought mine at Carmax and the tail lights were practically blacked out. I couldn't see anything while reversing at night. I sanded them down and repainted.

Simple, call that CarMax and ask them to email you more pictures and angles of the front before you pay to transfer/buy the car. They'll gladly do it for you.

Okay so a carmax sales associate has gotten back to me and sent me more close up pics with better detail. Wjat do you guys think. She said there doesnt appear to be any paint work done on it and can be due to just the panelling being different from the hood(plastic bumper metal hood etc) and apparently its factory. Meaning oem??? Its looking good guys. Might have it transferred
