G37 crash damaged rebuild

Hi,

Just wondered if any you guys could help me. I am from the UK and just bought a crash damaged G37 coupe. These cars are rare in the UK with nobody specializing in repair and parts are a nightmare to get hold of. I intend to put a full Liberty Walk body kit on it. Before I do any of that I will need front fender, head light and a few smaller parts to prepare it. One thing I need to find out also is how to reset or repair the hood which has activated and popped up due to the pedestrian collision system.

I would appreciate it if anybody can send me a link to used parts in the US for these cars and help with working out how to sort out the hood. Thanks in advance.

try these websites:

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

https://www.hollanderparts.com/

The first one is the main aggregator for all of north america (including Canada); just input the make model year and scroll down to the part type its easy...
once you get results you can go to the individual suppliers own websites and order the part online or order it through them on the phone...

remember the prices in CAD are about 30% less than the USD quotes so you may find some better deals there (sometimes thay list in USD but when you order you find out they are only charging CAD)...the Quebec (Location : QC) suppliers tend to be cheaper but note that sometimes their sites are in french and the people you call may have limited English skills but they are usually helpful/friendly

The second one is another aggregator and is a little more user friendly and usually has more pictures but there aren't as many source suppliers

good luck!

Not sure where to post this, so would appreciate advice regarding pop up engine hood pedestrian protection. Would really like to deactivate if possible when I can figure out how to remove the activated rams. Any help or advice where to post this would be great.

The pedestrian protection is built into the crash absorbers, which are tied into all of the airbags, seatbelts and emergency equipment. I wouldn't know where to look without disabling all of your emergency equipment. You'll probably have to replace the hood mounts all together, not sure.

Many thanks for the info regarding cancellers. Extremely helpful. I think I might go down this route and ditch the pop up hood rams. The are a sod to get out as one of the bolts holding them in nearest the screen is almost impossible to get at. I have removed most of the plastic parts around the ram. also hoping the hood is not damaged by these things going off.
