Yeah as stated before mine was perfect. No issues. Then out of no where dust started collecting, then it would not wipe off. I also had to remove far passenger side vent. When replacing the vent, the black exterior finish (what is turning tacky) just disinterested. Anyway I have about a quarter of a dime chunk missing next to the vent. Kinda an eye sore, especially when considering resale.

I'd suggest you guys invest in a cheap Walmart windshield sun shade. Every time you go away for a period of time throw it up. Also don't use excessive spray/cleaner as the solvent overtime may eat up your dash when heats up with the sun.

Never has this issue. Always used a windshield sunscreen when parking in sun.

Please do not take my response as sarcastic.

That's great! However, isn't it illegal in most states to tint the windshield, unless certain eye issues addressed by medical doctors? I don't think it is fair for Nissan to say 'well tint your windshield if you do not want issues.' Damn, Nissan is starting to come across to me as BMW and Benz, the car is built only for those who will own it during the warranty period. Sucks to suck for anyone else.

And to add to the windshield tint stigma.... In most states even with a doctor's note, it is still illegal to tint the windshield. Im in GA and had to file for a tint waiver, and the law clearly states no tint on the windshield at all (with the exception of a small strip on top)

I just noticed some stickiness / shiny reflection on my dash near the windshield area on my 2010 G37S garage kept car. I had good luck with dish soap and water removing it, and now it looks and feels fine, but suspect it will come back. I doubt Nissan / Infiniti will standby their product like Toyota / Lexus did when when they had interior cracking issues on their out of warranty cars. Nissan / Infiniti seems less concerned with brand loyalty and reputation since the Renault merger back in 2000. If there is a TSB, recall (wishful thinking), or class action to get this replaced, I'm in!

Nissan was taken to court with a class action lawsuit regarding this exact same dashboard issue with the Altima's. Nissan lost and had to fix the issue for owners affected.

There was a "ton of talk" from this one and that one about filing another class action lawsuit against Nissan (Infiniti) for our dashboard issues. Absolutely nothing has been done. All bullsh¡t talk...

Just a quick update: My car is a 2010 G37S Convertible with less than 35k miles on it and garage kept in Georgia. It truly is just a weekend car for me. When parked outside, windshield is always covered. Obviously driving during the day top up or down the dash gets exposed, but you can tell by the mileage that it isn't that much over the last 10 years. The car is sitting in the garage not in any direct sunlight and hardly used especially with the Covid-19 going on. After just a week, I notice the shininess and stickiness returns on the top / middle surfaces and the plastic closest to the windshield without the car being in direct sunlight at all. It's a real pain to constantly scrub whatever is going on off, but it does eventually come off with lots of elbow grease and soapy water followed by plain water and a microfiber towel.

While driving the car in direct sunlight you can watch the shininess / stickiness slowly come back right before you eyes. It's the reverse of watching paint dry...

I'm pretty sure what's going on is the dash is breaking down from within and it will never stop until replaced. I have already filed a complaint on the NHTSA site (https://www.nhtsa.gov) which I encourage anyone to do as well. I don't have much faith that Infiniti will ever address this like Lexus did, and until I get this fixed which could be never, I will boldly show others thinking of buy any Nissan products my dash quality and lack of customer retention. Recently, I just heard that Nissan is going to do major cost cutting measures. Here's a better suggestion, how about building better cars and standing by your cars to retain customers, build brand loyalty, and positive brand recognition?
