I'm really considering that BMW 4 series Gran Coupe. I know maintenance is a lot more on German cars, but I think I'll manage to save money on gas and doing some maintenance work myself. My job is only 7-8 miles away from my house and I still have to fill up my gas once a week!

Maybe someone with an AWD can correct me but 12-13 mpg???? Are you literally flooring it from 0 - posted speed limit every chance you get??? What lag are you speaking of? Throttle lag? Filling up once a week and work is 7-8 miles away? Do you go anywhere else in the car???? Assuming you work 5 days a week and only use the car to and from work you are driving 80 miles and you have to fill up?

I'm not saying you're wrong or lying, I'm just trying to clarify. If you are getting that poor of gas milage then something is definitely wrong with your car. Not to mention being beaten by a CRV!

Let us know bro!

M4 would be the only place for me to go from here, but I'll never spend that kind of coin, or be accepting of the depreciation.

I wouldn't mind a Cayman, particularly for track work, but don't want the Porsche badge snob image.

A bit off topic but...

AFAIK the AWD models do get worse mileage than the RWD. Also if that's the reading from the computer then it's not that accurate. I used to be 12-14 myself but I just changed my driving habits. Cut down on the short(read that as lazy) trips.

I also started tracking my gas mileage myself with a simple Google form I added to my phone's home screen. It just has fields for odo reading and fuel added. It feeds a Google sheet that has a simple formula column to show my gas mileage between fillups. Based on my driving I pretty much know when it's gonna be low. Highest I've gotten is 20.62 mpg, and I always fill the tank

timestamp / mileage / fuel added

last column is gas mileage since last fill-up

something is wrong. i drive like a lunatic (AWD coupe), and get 16-18 mpg - all stop-n-go city/suburbs driving. i hardly ever get on the highway.

it pulls hard, no lag, and i would DESTROY a CRV.

And the M4 doesn't carry the same image? Well it has been reduced some by Audi drivers.

A bicycle would be a better solution, at least for nice days.

Well if you're gonna sell it, at least sell it for a good price! I keep seeing all these G's selling for $8-9k and lowering our value!
