"Push up to P" Message displayed

I have a 2008 G37s. It has ran fine and has been a great car. Yesterday I put the transmission in park and turned the car off, and the dash displayed "Push up to P" and sounds a continuous beep. The car is very much in park but the vehicle is not registering it as being in park. Is there a way to disable this warning message until I can get it to the dealership, or perhaps troubleshooting methods I can try to reset the sensor?
