Japaneese auto repair & service over in Swanee, GA half assed the reinstall of my clutch master when they had it. Destroyed the rubber seal that goes against the firewall. Even looks like they were prying at it. :| Result was driver side puddle of water under the carpet from the sunroof drainage outlet. Took a while to figure this out. Thought it was sunroof and was kind of. Now my sunroof drain doesn't have that little circle thing in the way of it anymore at least. Was fun taking stuff apart. I like how infiniti put these things together. Anyway thought I could just loosen it and re adjust it but it was shredded. Adjusted what was left the best I could, tightened everything back down. Cut away excess and put some 20min caulk around it. Prob solved. Well see for how long. Love a good mystery. Well only after I have solved it that is.

Cmon guys.

I cleaned both throttle bodies and MAFs today. I was going to replace the spark plugs also but RockAuto sent me the wrong ones.

Installed my Rear Differential Brace. Very easy mod to do yourself. I'd rate it a 2/10 difficulty.

*One tip for anyone doing it, when installing the top/3rd nut inside the subframe. Wrap a little bit of electrical tape around your 19mm wrench. Then when you shove the 19mm nut in there, it will stay snug and won't fall off as you line it up inside the subframe while feeding the bolt into it from other end.

(wow i need a new exhaust one day huh)

Finished making a strut tower bar for mine. The strut tower plates came from a totaled G. I think this was a Megan Racing bar? The bar itself was very much done for, so I looked up pictures, for the shape and made a new one in the machine shop at my work. Noticed the pictures of the Megan bar had a placard on them, so I duplicated that with waterjet cut aluminum plate, powdercoated everything at work, then got some IPL vinyl decals made up.

only regret, I'm not sure if I made it too right or what, but it doesn't fit great with the engine plastics, so that's where I got the idea for the decal and the placard, so I could keep the IPL badge.

That's pretty darn creative. Cudos.

If clearance is an issue, you can always ditch the sound deadening panel on the underside of the hood. Pretty common move.

Thank you! Between the quarantine stuff and squirreling away for the engine in my other chassis, I've been considering low buck projects for all my vehicles.

And fair point. I hadn't really wanted to do that yet. But it would probably look better without it and all cleaned up and whatnot.

I like how you used polished T-bolts instead of the typical worm clamps. And I really like that gold finish on your FSTB. That's pretty unique.

That IPL decal is fantastic, and I like how you took the IPL badging into the engine bay. But it's fitment on the backing plate is awkward, and the plate itself is kind of plain. If you've got more vinyl, I say try again. Maybe a backing plate that has a raised edge, where the decal isn't slammed against the border. IDK how you make something like that, just thinking out loud.

Shame your radiator shroud is broken and missing a chunk of plastic. But I bet it's not that difficult to source a new one through ebay or a part-out.

Thanks! The badge plate was a free waterjet job from a supplier I work with, so I can't complain about the outcome. I have 4 spares at this point, so I thought about powdercoating then a few different colors and see what I like best.

The shroud, I ordered a replacement piece last week. Should be here any time now!

Added a takeda CAI couple days ago, a set of Eibach swaybars this afternoon. Sprayed some PB on the exhaust bolts while I'm waiting for the Gemini exhaust to arrive.

Installed my HKS Hi-Power exhaust I waited almost 5 months for from Japan...worth every second of the wait. Ordered a set of the new Work Emotion ZR10's today also, so let the waiting game begin again. Also removed the Mt. Fuji emblem- thinking about re-adding just the G37S emblems but we shall see. And yes it still needs a wax after removing the emblem lol, I took that pic right after taking off the Mt. Fuji halfway cleaned up.

Excited to see the wheels on there! I've been considering those wheels as well. Good looking exhaust!

Thanks! It took me a while to decide on the wheels 100%, but when I saw those new emotion ZR10's i knew I had to try them out. Curious to weigh them once I get them since Work is saying it is their lightest Emotion series wheel yet. I would get some forged Advan RSDF's or some RE30's instead if I could but they're a little out of my price range atm. Decided on the glim black diamond cut rim finish in 19x9.5 +23 up front and 19x10.5 +30 in the rears for an even and flush fitment, we shall see how it turns out.

Good choice. I have 18" XD-9s on my 240sx. I tried to fit them to the Infiniti just to see how it would look. They don't clear the brakes. Hahaha... Looking for something similar for the G and, like you, was excited when I first saw the ZR10s

Haha yeah fingers crossed they fit perfectly, there's no size/fitment chart out yet for the ZR10 so I might be the first one to run them on a G37 coupe and will be sure to post fitment pictures and the weight info when they get here in a few months. It sounds like they will clear without a problem. I had to hunt for some pics of the xd9, advan rsdf and volk CE28N on a G37 to get an idea of how it'll look also, not too many people running wheels like that in a 19".
