Shipping Car from LA (CA) to Chicago (IL)
Not sure where to post this.
I am shipping a 2015 Q50S with 3000 miles from Los Angeles to Chicago.
Anyone know of a dependable shipping company or have experience of working with a trustworthy one?
Also, how much am I looking at (any guesses/estimates)? The cheapest I found is a open-top transport for $829 door-to-door service (pick up to delivery within 1 week). I am not sure if that is a good price. The vendor has liability insurance covering up to $150K.
What things should I be concern about or watch out for in terms of shipping my car?
Anyone with experience in shipping a car?

I shipped our G37 from Maryland to Florida ... Horrible experience, first driver disappeared, second driver after first was a no show broke the rear window and dented the roof. My neighbor works for Reliable ...fantastic company by the cars I see on his truck but not cheap. I'll see if I can find the carrier we used so you can stay away from them.
UPDATE: We used A to Z Auto Shipping and their driver was a no show, I think they sub'd it out but I'm not sure. Either way A to Z was horrible, from them not wanting to pick up the car on the day the contract said (we were leaving town to drive to FL and they didn't care, wanted to change pick-update by 5 days after we were to have left). Plus they were so casual about the damage and had a "we don't give a **** attitude".

I'll have to move myself, my GF, and our four cars across the country later this summer. The best thing I could come up with was to rent a U-Haul with a trailer for one car, drive that, while my GF drives one car, and we caravan. That way, my tools can travel in the U-Haul with the car that has a higher probability of breaking down. Then we fly back, and I drive my beater and my GF drives her car. My beater is a wagon, so I can fit basic tools in there too. Mega PIA, but cheaper than shipping four cars and hiring a moving company for our stuff.
Edit: this will be from MD to CA.

We had three cars to get from MD to FL. We came in April to close on the house we bought but weren't moving until June. What we should have done was drive the G here for closing and fly back .... then drive the other 2 cars when we actually moved.

I'm fairly certain I'm going to move back to Washington state and will do the same, just trailer it with a car cover behind the UHaul.
Hmm. Southwest flies to L.A. and Chicago...
$238 for each one-way ticket. $300 for three nights in hotels. Gas money is about $200.
I would hardly be cheaper than a hauler.

Me neighbor pulled his Viper on a U-Haul car carrier rental from Kentucky to Florida but his motivation was, "I don't trust anyone else". He pulled it with his SUV though.
