Any particular reason? A camaro or mustang will give you a much more solid base to build power than a Z. Careful with the C6 Z06... the LS7 is a monster but it has a habit of blowing up. Probably better off with a Grand Sport with with the LS3.

I'm biased though, I like big, loud, American cars and V8s

Sorry to see such a beautiful G go to the scrapyard, but thankfully you're alive and well. Let us know if you'll be selling some parts to recoup your costs

Supras, especially the stock TT models, are holding their value even at higher mileage. It's a collectible now so you can drive it all you want and maybe sell it for even more in the future. All you have to do is cough up about $40k for an unmolested car.

If you prefer to go new, I'd also look into the 2017 WRX with the new FA engine. However, be prepared to get a new clutch because there's been reports of transmission issues (burned clutches for absolutely no reason). They start around $27k but there's a special forum pricing for fully loaded at $28k shipped from Colorado.

I'm not looking for something new off the lot, more like something in the 2010-2014 range. I'm going to test drive an M3 with DCT. I want a car that I can modify and kinda keep forever and keep developing, not something I'm gonna sell in 5 years. Kinda like my bro and his GSX.

But I feel like for that I'm gonna have to go older like the supra, 300zx, etc

I was thinking 335i cuz you can get like 400whp for like 3K is supporting mods. Only thing steering me away is everyone has a 335 but mine would have M body kit and lowered so I guess it would stand out

I say go for the Supra! The NA models sell for just above $20k and you can always go the FI route if you choose to. If you want more power, this is a great platform to build on. It'd definitely be a car worth holding onto and developing.

I feel like the 335 is a hit or miss. It was a consideration while shopping for my G, but there's too many stories about maintenance that steered me away. My brother-in-law bought a used one with about 70k miles and hasn't had any big issues but it still seems like a ticking time bomb

Haha I started a revolution! Supra, Supra Supra!!! An original TT will be worth the same or more at any point in the future. They will never drop in value.

I WISH you were correct but a Supra isn't like a 60's Chevy. If you single turbo a Supra with BPU+ mods, you'll absolutely raise the value unless you used eBay junk. Stock Supras are cool and all, but you're not gonna sell it for more than 30-40k while the exact same car for the same price has 900hp, unless it has stupid low miles, like 30k or less. Well kept modded Supras can go for $60-80k or even more if done with quality work. They are one of the only cars you'll get your upgrade money back on. I've been a member on the Supra forums for 12 years. I've seen it all. They are only getting more rare and are iconic.

I was going to look at a Dodge Challenger 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker Plus when my lease is up next year. I want the v8 muscle car again. I used to have a yellow 2001 Honda S2k and it was a fun little car.

Coming from a 335i, and now owning a G, I highly don't recommend the 335i unless you do all the maintenance yourself, or it comes with a warranty. They are extremely unreliable. I owned one for 9 months, and had about $6000 worth of maintenance that needed to be done. It's just a car that has an amazing drive, but if you prefer being smart with your money, then I don't recommend it. I also babied the **** out of that thing. So if you're going to be tracking it, I would either become a BMW mechanic, or put a lot of money aside for maintenance.

I figure that unless your swimming in money, German vehicles are lease only. Terrible reliability and parts are expensive.
