It is easier to just run the GTE ecu with the 2jz-GE or do a swap with like 1jz and run the soarer/aristo ecu. Or if you want to go all out you can run a standalone like the AEM V2 and call it a day. But I will say the sounds a boosted 2jz makes is AMAZING! This 70% the reason I want to go with the 2jz.

Haha what have I done! Well good choice, the 2jz and GTE ECU MOD work very well together and it runs and idles like stock up to 500whp+. That's plenty of power for the streets. Now, all that being said it works best on the 92-96 years, after that the SC went to OBD2 and tends to be a much bigger pain, last time I checked a year or so ago, they were still working out the bigs. For reliability I would go with the 96 year or older.

Funny you say, I have a 2000 NB Miata on PNP MS3 in the garage. My roommate bought the car and him and I turbo'd, soldered, wired and "auto-tuned" it ourselves in one weekend. Runs like a champ but probably only has 280whp. He SCCA'd the car a ton and ended up blowing the trans. We swapped in the newer 6 speed trans they came with and upgraded the turbo and exhaust but its stopped there. We haven't gotten the exhaust all welded up and he's re-building his coil on plug setup. Its been on jacks for the better part of 2 years since we have our other cars we work on too. Its a fun side project and Miata's are super cheap to work on. Novel over lol.

Definitely go with the GTE ECU. If you ever need more power than the 500ish its good for, DO NOT go with any AEM. No one runs them anymore. They never run right and a typical change in weather can make it run like trash until you retune it, so weird. Get E-manage and get flex fuel or mega squirt. Those are tried and true and lots of support!

Oh man, just thinking about AEM and all the problems the Supra guys complain about makes my eye twitch. Unless you are a tuner or are best friends with a tuner, you'll hate yourself.

Or you live in Florida and have Induction Performance, Real Street, and Titan Motorsports within an hour from your house.

... the VQ35 can't handle those numbers reliably, which is why I am confused why everyone is telling the OP to turbo the 35. The only downside with his 37 is that it has the 7AT which is only good reliably for low 400s.

Agreed with most.. the VQ35 was known to have issues handling boost. The 37 has generally shown more reliable with boost

Here's my opinion...

What vehicle do you enjoy driving most? Keep those.

Sell the ones you aren't thrilled about.

Personally, do you want to have more money for mods or just show? If you are serious about modding then sell the IPL, mod the crap outta the g35.... or sell the g35 and pour money into the IPL.
