I vote nay. Black roof is so 90's, and it didn't really look all that good then.

Nay. Do vinyl first. Just in case you won't like it. If you don't like it you can take the vinyl off. If you do like it then you'll feel more comfortable painting it....

Yes yes 100% yes... ESPECIALLY on a white G! Vinyl wrap it in a gloss black over paint though for sure. Here's mine when it was still white before I wrapped the entire car.

Thinking to repaint my roof since there are some rock chips here and there and starting to get rust on those spots. The clear coat also started to bubble too.

gloss vinyl for the win... it will make your roof look clean rather than having that disruptive black glass roof..
one of the first thing done to my g when she was stock... right after debadge..

Honestly I think you should do it if you want to. Don't let others opinion change your mind from doing things to your own car.

OP did ask for opinions, no? Hence the title of this thread.

IMO, no. I just don't care for the look.

Ultimately it's your car.

As the saying goes, "If it harms none do what you will."

I don't personally like the look; seems a little tacky/juevenile to me.

But, as others have said, if you like it you should do it. Yours is the only opinion that matters.

Unless it's a big F'ing wing. Then we'll all hate on you and you should feel bad

Its your car do what you want is the typical response...however it wont be "your" car someday. You will probably sell it and when you do you have just reduced your target market and your resale will be less then if you didnt do it.
Advice from someone who has done things to cars and then regretted it...
Do it but make it reversible ....wrap it.
If you cant reverse something you do to a car and make it stock....look long and hard at the cost...the cost of doing the project and the loss at resale of doing the project.
