The Coupe Exhaust Thread
Any chance did it growl or sound deep and loud with that setup or do you think I’m forced to get a new exhaust to get that growl at low rpm?
Growl is a relative term and subject to opinion on what level you are trying to achieve. I already answered yes it will make it deeper/louder. Search on YouTube and IG if you need examples.
After doing research, and seeing a lot of people complaining about the artpipe smell, I decided I’ll pass and just do a muffler delete and call it a day lol. I can’t have people I drive with complaining about the smell all day long.
Any test pipes would smell because of removing the cats. I believe it only smells with the windows down and the right wind blowing. If you like the stock sound with a little "uhmp" then the invidia gemini is the one. It's deep and smooth sounding but after it warms up, it kinda fades away. I want it a little louder on idle so I'll be pairing it with the art pipes to see if there's any difference.
After almost 5 years of having Art Pipes and with numerous passengers; not one has ever complained of the exhaust smell. It's honestly not bad IMO. I doubt people are going to be complaining "all day long". Muffler delete just screams cheap, the G deserves better.

So had resonator remove but idk that much about these things so what do ya think?, should I keep it this way or just have them add resonator back and just go ahead and order the art pipe. I still have my muffler attached to car by the way

You got a point, I would hate to spend another $120 just to put them back on smh, but even with my resonator delete I could just add art pipes and be fine?, If so I’ll do that next since I could afford $600 right now and money to install but can’t do both atm until I save.
Hi guys, just wanted to post about my exhaust set-up for anyone looking around for a set-up.
I'm currently running Motordyne ART pipes into Invidia Gemini cat-back with custom straight pipes replacing the giant muffler.
I started with just the Invidia Gemini and although it had a nice tone, it was way too quiet for my taste. I got around to purchasing ART pipes for both performance and increase volume and the performance gains were definitely noticeable but the sound barely increased in volume (though it was definitely a deeper tone which was nice). To be expected though since they are ART pipes. So unsatisfied with the soundtrack, I researched different topics such as gettings different pipes into an axle-back and such. I stumbled upon a video of a G35 with just the Gemini with a muffler delete and it sounded amazing. So I got with my guy who does some of my installs and he was able to get some pipes and bend and cut them to fit from the Gemini mid-pipes to the bumper. Needless to say, this was definitely the best decision I've made for the exhaust, and for a whopping $130.
It's loud enough now to have flocks of people come to you at a giant Cars & Coffee and want to take videos of it revving. It's also loud enough to hear the sound echo off of buildings and houses while stepping on it. And better yet, you can still drive normally without yelling at your passenger. On the interstate, there's no drone, almost exactly how it was before the muffler delete yet when you step on it you unleash this ear-piercing make-people-grin monster of the VQ and I absolutely love it.
Video (the rattling/hissing noise at the end of accelerations is my license plate vibrating against the bumper which I need to fix soon):
Hope your exhaust searches go well!
