Question about G37s

I'm in the market for either an IS350 or a G37. I found a G37 locally that looks really nice. The guy says it's a G37s but I thought the sports only came in manual and his is auto? I'll post a link to get you guys opinion on if its a good deal or not. Also, what type of reliability issues will I encounter most likely? I'm coming from a Lexus now and only have to do oil changes, tires, etc.

Sports came in both manual and auto. Price wise seems decent. I'd try to get down to 19/20.

No real reliability issues in the G37- especially in 2011 and beyond.

Two owners in two different states under 50k miles

I'm suspicious!

Especially anything on craigslist.

Forget Carfax!
Have a thorough inspection at an Infiniti dealer and have them run the VIN number for the vehicle history.

Just my $.02

I would have my friend who is a mechanic check the car over or I would go to the local Infiniti dealer to have it checked over. As far as aftermarket exhaust systems go what are some of the best? Was thinking about getting an Ark grip exhaust but I'm seeing mixed reviews online.

Ark is a good choice, hangs low but good quality, depending on budget Motordyne and fast intentions is also a really good idea for an Exhaust only thing fast intention there are made to order and it takes some time to receive

Get a GS350. If you can't get that, go with the G37.

I don't personally like the note of the Ark system but a lot of people do. Only thing I see mentioned frequently is that the Ark sits pretty low so you'll have to be extra careful with bumps, potholes, etc. Especially if you're lowered.

I have Fast Intentions and love it FWIW

The S means it's the sport obviously. There is the sport model for sedans that can come rwd and awd. If it doesn't say X it isn't awd That being said. It doesn't matter stick or auto. If it's auto and the sport model trim you'll have the nice magnesium paddle shifters straight out of the GTR. That the other G's don't have. And it will have a Rev matching features and quicker shifts in sport mode .

Hope this helps. I bought my G37S manual 2008 rwd. For 18500 before taxes with 80k miles on it. And yours is a 2012 so that's a good deal. And you have fully loaded with navigation

Just bought my 2008 g37-s from the dealership for 15,500 drive out price with 80k miles. Not sure if much difference between the 2011 and 2008, but you can find better deals with a few years older model.

If the mechanic comes back to you with a clean bill of health, I'd say 20k would be a decent deal (so try to shoot for 19k). It's even better than this car was in southern states, meaning lower chance for rust/salt damage. From what I've read in the past, I'd stay away from the earlier models ('08/'09) because of the timing gasket issue (~$2k) and quirky issues like the dash unit cracking or melting.

Nevertheless, if you do decide to buy from a private seller, be sure to have the seller list the final sale price at lower than market value so you save on taxes (my seller listed mine at $10k). If the DMV asks, the engine and tire/wheels need to replaced.
