New midnight grill
I've had mine on the car for a couple weeks now, and it seems to be holding up fine. I put a coating of CQuartz on it before mounting it on the car. I think it would be a good idea to shoot a layer of clear on it if you're already clearing other parts. That's the only thing - it looks like the paint is pretty thin on it.
I did the install this past weekend and as noted earlier in the thread, it's about a 30-45 min job and not complicated if you take your time and work methodically. No one should shy away from doing this install themselves. The previously posted installation video is a big help and watching it before beginning the process is very helpful.
A few tips from my experience:
Spray on detailer / waterless car wash helps loosen up the sight shield (it's slippery) and allow you to remove it easier.
In the area where the sight shield clips on to the radiator shroud with the two pins, that area of the shield was very thin on my car. I ended up cracking it totally by accident in spite of me being VERY careful throughout the entire process. Sending off today for a new one
. I wonder if a small mod to this piece might make install and removal easier? If I decide to mod the new part I will post a photo of what I did.
There is a metal bracket that attaches to the sight shield from below with a 10mm bolt. Be careful that you don't get this bracket caught under the wiring during the re-assembly process as then it is difficult or impossible to properly attach! I'm waiting to correct this until after the new sight shield arrives.
Anyway.... good luck to all who have purchased this part and ENJOY.

Are you the one who ordered one and had it shipped to the UK?
Yes, that was me - $180 purchase of the midnight grille but about another $150 to re-pack it and ship to the UK
I was very pleased with it for . . . .about 2 weeks, then the paint started coming off.
It's going to be a standard chrome grille in about another month if the paint comes off at it's current rate

my "official" midnight black grille isn't much better - lots of paint chips. went to town on it with Dr. Colorchip. Infiniti paint sucks ***.
I've had mine on for about 3 months and about 2500 miles. It's my daily driver that has done both back road commute to lengthy highway trips. The grill is holding up well so far. Even with some pretty hard bug strikes and I can only assume a stone or two has hit it but there are no chips or imperfections. So far its worth every penny.
I'm actually a bit upset with mine now as well as I've noticed paint chipping happening. It lasted well for the first couple of months but it looks like I'll have to repaint it.
I think my mistake was not putting on enough layers of clearcoat to protect it. It's a great grill for the price but just make sure to put on at least 3-5 layers of clearcoat on it prior to installing it.

Thanks for the follow up guys. I am picking up my new to me graphite shadow coupe S next weekend and was thinking of getting this. I might do plasti-dip instead though because I would rather have matte black instead of glossy.
