eBay Axle Back - 2012+ ?

I know the eBay axle back exhaust has been covered before. I was considering ordering one last night and ran into some confusion..

It appears that most of the Tanabe Medalion replicas (manzo, top speed, beluga racing etc) are all listed as being compatible with the 2008-2011 G37 Coupe.

I sent a message to a beluga racing seller to clarify (listed as 2008-2011). They replied that it wouldn't fit my 2012 coupe.

What gives? Do these exhausts really not fit the 2012+ coupe? Is there really any difference between the 2011 and 2012 coupe exhaust? I didn't think so?

let me give you a warning, however - i figured an easy 4-bolts/put into exhaust hangers install. WRONG!

i could NOT remove the bolts, with breaker bar, soaked in PB Blaster, etc. car is a 2013 and not much rust underneath, but those &!@#ing exhaust bolts were welded together. had to take it to a muffler shop to have them removed - not sure if they cut them off or used a torch.

here is what i got, but i don't know what's going on with that price

Did you have any issues with fitment? Tips centering within their respective cutouts?

Thanks for the tip on offering $145.

Any interior drone? I've run aftermarket exhaust on just about every car I've had. I regret it every time because of the drone!

no fitment issues.

my bad, i meant $245, not $145. i paid $269 from the same seller i linked above.

there is a *slight* drone, but only in a narrow range in the lower RPM's - even less now than when it was first installed, and it doesn't bother me. its not super loud, just much deeper and throaty. i'm very pleased with it. i had a Porsche 928 with no mufflers and a 3" exhaust exiting out a 5" megaphone that would light up every car alarm in a parking garage if i wasn't careful - i did NOT want that again.

Did you notice any difference in performance?

In the past, on other car's I've noticed a drop in low end torque.

no, its just an axleback. i may "get on it" more because it sounds good.

you probably gain 50lbs in weight savings, though - the factory muffler is a big HEAVY bitch!
