the only time I do is when I'm stuck on a steep hill and the drivers behind leaving no room. That's when I use the ebrake.

Same. I just take the clutch out until the rpms drop a bit so I don't roll back when I move from brake to gas.

Shift fast? Or riding out the clutch?
Shifting "fast" may work on a little hill.
But on certain hill where idiots behind leave no leg room, I'm not taking any chances.
