Question Would this be a sign of a flood victim?

I just upgraded from a 2004 G35 > 2011 G37x.

I noticed there was rust on the undercarriage, no big deal, I'm no stranger to salt water or salty air.

But after looking through it just to see if i could find signs of flooding, i noticed this where the steering goes though the firewall.

Did i buy a flood victim?

I would be looking for more of an electronic issue with the car or a smell from the interior. minor surface rust on something like that would just be caused by raw metal being exposed to moisture. There are quiet a few components inside your dash that will be brackets or braces that are raw metal and will show surface rust from just the moisture in the air alone.

Thanks for the reply!

There is no smell, and as far as i can tell there are no electrical problems.

Maybe I'm just being overly paranoid!
